Products from Deb’s Global Range Awarded European Ecolabel

On 31st March 2011, 7 products and 16 separate SKUs from Deb’s new Global Range of away from home skin care products were awarded with the European Union Ecolabel Certificate demonstrating their credentials as being kinder to the environment, whilst retaining their primary purpose of being effective and pleasant to use.

The hand and body wash products were each required to follow a stringent technical criteria consisting of 11 levels that apply life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology. This covers the main environmental impacts generated at all stages of their life cycle, including manufacturing, use and disposal.

Deb Group R&D Director, Dr John Hines, commented that “the Ecolabel Certificates are the result of an 18 month intensive product development programme, working closely with the Ecolabel authorities.”

The Ecolabel scheme is Europe's official environmental label and is recognised by all 28 member states of the European Union, plus the 4 EEA countries.
