When to Wash

From an early age children should be taught to wash their hands:

  • before eating or touching any food
  • after using the bathroom
  • after touching/feeding animals, including family pets
  • after blowing their nose, coughing, or sneezing
  • after playing outside
  • after school
  • after touching garbage or anything which may be dirty
  • before going to bed
