Six reasons why you should use Deb InstantFOAM® in your workplace: protect your workforce, save money, cost effective, make hand hygiene a priority, independently tested and preferred by users.

1. Protect your workforce – keep your business working

Many organizations now regularly include flu planning as part of their occupational health program. Preparing in advance for the ‘flu season’ is good practice to minimize the impact of seasonal flu on the workforce and in turn, prevent any loss of service or outputs to customers or service users.

This is particularly important at a time of pandemic and should be considered as part of every organization’s Business Continuity Planning. Deb InstantFOAM® can play an important part in protecting workers, killing 99.999% of many common germs and infections.

2. Save money

21 separate studies* in a variety of different settings from around the world show that good hand hygiene practices can reduce illness, absence and associated cost on an average by around 40% (*Copies held by Deb Group). So encouraging staff to wash their hands and use hand sanitizer whilst at work could help minimize wasted time and resources and save organizations money all year round.

3. Cost effective

Deb InstantFOAM® hand sanitizer is available in a variety of pack sizes and formats designed to be highly cost effective in use. From just a few cents per day, each employee and visitor can have access to the product in their workplace. Businesses already lose millions of working days every year due to employee sickness from seasonal influenza. During pandemic periods, such as Influenza A (H1N1), these levels will potentially rise much further. However, for very low cost, the use of Deb InstantFOAM® hand sanitizer, in combination with normal hand washing, can help significantly reduce the risk of germs being spread in the workplace.

4. Make hand hygiene a priority

Hands are the main vehicle for transmitting germs from one person to another, either directly or by touching shared objects and surfaces. So helping employees to improve their hand hygiene is the right thing to do throughout the year for every organization. During the flu season, hand hygiene becomes even more important as businesses suffer from considerable employee sickness absence, as well as the related business costs and inconvenience. For example, in the US, the common cold is estimated to cost the US economy $40 Billion per annum (Fendrick et al 2003). In Canada, 79% of all workers report going to work sick, and 53% of all workers report becoming sick due to exposure to an ill co-worker (Decima 2006).

With H1N1 influenza now at pandemic status the guidance of the World Health Organization is:

  • Clean hands protect against infection
  • Protect yourself
  • Clean your hands regularly
  • Wash your hands with soap and water, and dry them thoroughly.
  • Use alcohol-based handrub if you don’t have immediate access to soap and water

(World Health Organization 2nd May 2009)

Hand washing and hand sanitizing are complementary activities.

5. Independently tested for proven effectiveness

Deb InstantFOAM® kills 99.999% of many common germs, viruses and microorganisms instantly. This broad spectrum of germicidal activity is supported by independent testing in world renowned laboratories. Deb InstantFOAM® has undergone the following microbial tests:

  • Bactericidal tests - meets the requirements of EN1276, conforms to the requirements of EN1500 in 15 seconds
  • Fungicidal tests – conforms to EN1275, demonstrating activity against yeasts and moulds
  • Virucidal tests – shows rapid antiviral activity, up to 99.999% effective after 30 seconds exposure

6. Preferred by users

Independent research demonstrates that 84% of users prefer Deb’s alcohol foam sanitizer to their regular sanitizer. Deb InstantFOAM® hand sanitizer is dermatologically tested to show the product is mild and non-irritant. It is toxicologically approved with the formulation assessed by a toxicologist and declared ‘non-toxic’ and is hypoallergenic. In-vivo skin hydration measurements using a Corneometer demonstrate increased skin moisture levels following regular product use. The product does not induce antibacterial resistance and is a ‘non taint’ formula.
