Keep Your Employees Protected
Working outdoors puts you at a higher risk of developing skin cancer because you are regularly exposed to the sun for long periods of time, however, 90% of skin cancer deaths could be prevented.
Outdoor workers spend the majority of their working day in the light of a silent threat to the health of their skin. Without adequate UV protection, they're putting themselves at risk. According to Sun Safety at Work Canada, outdoor workers are 2.5 to 2.5 times more likely to be diagnosed with skin cancers.
Regular daily use of sunscreen with an SPF 30 or higher blocks 97% of UVB radiation, reduces melanoma risk by 50%, and slows skin aging by 24%. Yet still only 29% of Canadian workers are provided sunscreen at work.
