Deb Canada Offers Education And Downloads About Skin Care Health For Workers As Part Of NAOSH Week 2017

NAOSH Week 2017

WATERFORD, ON., May 7, 2017 – As part of NAOSH (North American Occupational Safety & Health) Week from May 7th - 13th 2017, Deb Group, the world’s leading away-from-home skin care company, is offering education and resources for companies who are concerned about the health of their employees' skin.

Companies can visit www.debgroup.com/ca/industrial to learn more and download free resources about occupational skin disorders (OSD) and skin care health such as, A Manager's Guide For Industrial Workers, Does My Workplace Need Gloves or Hand Creams eBook, A Skin Care Audit Checklist and a Pre and After Work Creams Guide.

Deb advocates for improvement in skin care standards and the reduction of the threat of occupational skin disorders , in general to Make Hands Matter in the Workplace. Occupational skin disorders, including work-related dermatitis, are a serious health issue that currently go largely unreported in the workplace; an invisible threat that affect both an organization’s efficiency and the health and well-being of its employees. There is a lack of understanding of the risks and of the consequences of poor skin condition.

In addition, outdoor workers have a higher than average risk of developing skin cancer; long-term exposure to the sun causes skin damage and every episode of sunburn increases the risk of getting skin cancer. Employers have a responsibility to provide their employees with education and access to products that concern their health and safety while at work.

The NAOSH Week website states that the goal during Safety and Health Week is to focus employers, employees, partners and the public on the importance of preventing injury and illness in the workplace, at home, and in the community.
